A Very Fine Set Of Twenty Four George IV Mahogany and Ebony Sabre Leg Dining Chairs

The shaped top rails inlayed with ebonised Greek key design, above

ebonised uprights, with a rectangular overstuffed seat, sabre legs

with repeated ebonised inlay, Twenty two chairs circa 1820, 

the armchairs are of a later date.

Attributed to George Smith.

A Fine Pair of George II Mahogany Chair Back Settees

With curved top rails above a tapering vertical splat,

joined by carved tassels,

the scroll shaped arms with acanthus carving,

above rectangular drop in seat's,

resting on well shaped bold acanthus carved leg's with foliage,

terminating in ball and claw feet.

 

In the manner of Giles Grendley
