A superb George 1V marble specimen table containing many semi precious marbles such as Malachite, Jasper, Egyptian Porphyry, Sienna, Porto and Breccia Africano. The top resting on an exceptional rosewood base carved with rolling acanthus on bronze feet, the base was made for the top shortly after it was acquired on The Grand Tour, and is probably by Mack Williams & Gibton.

Provenance, Formely in the collection of Mr Burt Heaton Ireland.

Mr Heaton was a passionate collector, in the 1950s & 60s he would travel to Dublin every friday to survey the goods purchased by the leading dealers of the day, he would meet up the likes of Paul Johnston senior, Gerry Kenyon, Ronnie Mcdonald ect. It was on one of these trips that Cris Johnston remembers Mr Heaton acquiring this table from his father Paul Johnston senior.
